In a shocking incident, four individuals have been accused of kidnapping a Memphis mother and her infant and forcing them into sex trafficking, according to court documents. Treasure Akins, Monisha Nelson, Kierra Clark, and Quintarius White now face charges that include kidnapping and sex trafficking.
The Memphis sex trafficking ordeal began when the victim and her one-month-old baby were at a hotel on South Third Street. Four people forcefully entered their room, with three women physically assaulting the mother while a man looked on. They then informed the victim that she would be compelled to engage in sexual acts for money, which she would have to hand over to the man.
The group took the mother and baby against their will, driving them to another hotel. There, the victim was coerced into engaging in sexual acts with an unidentified man for cash, while Akins seized the money. Fortunately, the victim managed to contact a friend, who promptly called the police.
Law enforcement officers arrived at the scene and executed a search warrant on multiple hotel rooms. As a result, all four suspects were detained, and the money paid to the victim, along with a handgun, was recovered.
Clark, Nelson, and Akins are facing charges that include especially aggravated kidnapping, possession of a firearm during a dangerous felony, and trafficking for commercial sex acts. White faces similar charges, along with aggravated assault.
