Nevada — Paul Reder, the former president and CEO of Bass Camp, a company known for organizing electronic dance music festivals in the Reno and Tahoe areas, has been accused of sex trafficking a minor.
A lawsuit filed in August alleges that Reder engaged in repeated sexual assault of a teenage boy over several years, beginning when the victim was 17. The lawsuit does not name the victim, identified only as John Doe.
The lawsuit, filed by John Doe’s attorneys, claims that Reder used his position of power within Bass Camp to coerce the victim into sexual acts. It further suggests that John Doe may not have been the only underage victim targeted by Reder.
In response to the allegations, Bass Camp released a statement on social media last week announcing Reder’s resignation as CEO. Nick Rogers has been appointed as his successor.
Through his legal representative, Reder vehemently denies all allegations and plans to file a motion to dismiss the case. He maintains his innocence and intends to defend himself vigorously in court.
