Miami Man Arrested on Human Trafficking Charge After Search

Miami, Florida — A 28-year-old man from Naples, Florida, has been arrested on charges of human trafficking after Miami Police located a missing 15-year-old girl.

Joshua Joseph Notarianni is facing several charges, including human trafficking related to sexual activity, prostitution proceeds, and possession of firearms by a convicted felon. He was taken into custody at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.

The investigation began early Wednesday when officers were called to the 400 block of Brickell Avenue to search for the missing girl, who was last seen in Brevard County. Police reviewed surveillance footage and saw a girl, accompanied by Notarianni, resembling the missing person. A records check revealed he had an open felony warrant for attempted robbery in 2018.

Officers identified the location where the girl and Notarianni were found. Upon approaching, they encountered two women, aged 20 and 23, who stated they had been coerced into prostitution by Notarianni. The women also revealed he had concealed their identification in a locked room.

After a standoff, Notarianni was persuaded to surrender. Authorities recovered a firearm inside the unit.

The Miami Police Department, alongside the State Attorney’s Office human trafficking task force, is continuing its investigation.
