In a major joint operation in Oxnard, Silvia Diaz, 51, the owner of VIP Therapy Massage, was arrested on charges of human trafficking, pimping, pandering, and money laundering, as reported by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department.
Diaz’s spa, located on West Fourth Street, Oxnard, has been accused of commercial sex solicitation. Collaborating on this extensive operation were the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department, the FBI, and the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office. Along with Diaz, two other individuals, one from Los Angeles and another from Oxnard, were taken into custody.
The probe into the Valencia human trafficking, which began in March, primarily revolved around VIP Therapy Massage and another establishment, Blue Moon Spa on South A Street, Oxnard. Both businesses were suspected of engaging in illegal activities. A synchronized search on Aug. 4 led to the arrest of the suspects and the seizure of significant evidence, including over $60,000 in cash and a Chevrolet Corvette, believed to be proceeds from the alleged brothel.
Detective Connor Armstrong of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office lauded community members for their crucial role, saying, “We are better at what we do because of our community partnerships.” The arrested individuals have been detained at the Ventura County Sheriff’s main jail, with bail set at a staggering $900,000 each.
