Two Human Trafficking Victims Rescued in California

Stockton, California — A joint effort by law enforcement in San Joaquin and Stanislaus counties resulted in the rescue of two human trafficking victims and the arrest of three individuals.  The operation, conducted on January 29, involved the San Joaquin County Human Trafficking Task Force, the Stanislaus County Human Exploitation and Trafficking Task Force, and other agencies.  Their focus was combating sex and labor trafficking.

A 17-year-old girl reported missing from her Southern California placement was rescued after she jumped from a moving vehicle at a Stockton truck stop near Charter Way and Navy Drive. This escape led to a nine-mile pursuit, aided by an air unit, and the subsequent arrest of 33-year-old Carl Price. He is charged with kidnapping and felony evading. This incident mirrors a similar rescue at a Stockton truck stop the previous week.

An adult victim was also recovered during the operation, alongside the juvenile. Both victims were offered support services. The arrested individuals face various charges, including felony kidnapping, felony evading, felony robbery, and misdemeanor disorderly conduct related to prostitution.
