Two Arrested in Marina for Alleged Human Trafficking

Marina, California — Early on September 4, two individuals were taken into custody following a welfare check that evolved into an investigation into alleged human trafficking in Marina. 

Marina police officers initially responded to a call on the 300 block of Reservation Road at around 2:37 a.m. to check on a woman’s well-being. Their investigation uncovered signs of a potential human trafficking situation.

The suspects, Christopher Walker, 37, and Courtney Thomas, 24, both from Sacramento, were detained on charges related to conspiracy and human trafficking. They have been booked into the Monterey County Jail.

Following the arrests, the Marina Police Department executed search warrants for related vehicles and hotel rooms. The details of the findings from these searches have not been disclosed.
