Teen Found, Suspect Charged in LA Human Trafficking Case

Los Angeles, California — A 17-year-old girl reported missing from Irvine was located and safely recovered after authorities arrested a suspect in a human trafficking case in Los Angeles, law enforcement officials confirmed Monday.

According to the Anaheim Police Department, the investigation began on April 28 when the teen was reported missing by her family. Initial findings by Orange County investigators indicated she may have been a victim of commercial sexual exploitation.

Authorities quickly launched a human trafficking investigation and initiated search efforts across jurisdictions.

  • By April 29, the teen had been located in Los Angeles with the suspect.
  • The suspect was apprehended and booked into the Anaheim Police Department Detention Facility.

The following day, on April 29, members of the Orange County Human Trafficking Task Force found the girl in Los Angeles alongside 23-year-old Alex Polidore of Hawthorne. Alex Polidore, a convicted felon, was taken into custody at the Anaheim Police Department Detention Facility for a parole violation and several human trafficking-related charges.

On May 1, the Orange County District Attorney’s Office formally charged Polidore with human trafficking of a minor. He remains held on $1 million bail.
