Authorities have taken action against six additional massage parlors in the Tri-Cities area following a series of searches. According to Kennewick police, four of the businesses were involved in trafficking women, while two others were found to be in violation of license requirements.
The police had been receiving complaints of sex trafficking in massage parlors since the beginning of the year. Working in collaboration with the Department of Health, officers and state inspectors conducted the searches.
The massage parlors that were raided include Joy Spa, Shangri La Massage, Dream Spa, VIP Massage, Fragrant Oil Spa, and Royal Massage. While investigators did not find evidence of sexual services being sold at Joy Spa or Dream Spa, the focus of the operation was to address trafficking concerns. These businesses are predominantly situated along Clearwater Avenue, with one on Kennewick Avenue and another on Union Place. No arrests were made during the searches, and the investigation is ongoing.
During the searches, nine women were found working at these establishments. Four of them received assistance from Mirror Ministries, a faith-based nonprofit organization that supports survivors of sex trafficking.
This incident marks the third search operation in recent months that has uncovered suspected human trafficking operations in the Tri-Cities area. Another search warrant was executed at Eastern Silk Spa in Richland, which was linked to a larger investigation in King County. In a separate case, the owner of a massage parlor in Tacoma was implicated in a raid related to sex trafficking. The individual was suspected of being involved with multiple massage parlors, including four in Kennewick.
