Over 100 Arrested, 2 Minors Rescued in Sex Trafficking Sting

Sacramento County, California — A recent sex trafficking and prostitution sting led by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office resulted in the arrest of over 100 individuals and the rescue of two minors.

The two-day operation aimed to tackle human trafficking and prostitution in the county, with deputies posing as buyers and sellers to identify both victims and perpetrators. The sting targeted individuals exploiting others for commercial sex, focusing on those involved in trafficking and illegal solicitation.

During the operation, more than 100 people were arrested on charges related to prostitution, solicitation, and human trafficking. In addition, two 16-year-old victims were rescued from sex trafficking. Both minors are now receiving care and support services to aid in their recovery.

Sheriff Jim Cooper highlighted the significance of the operation, calling it a strong stance against the illegal sex trade. He emphasized their commitment to protecting vulnerable individuals, especially minors, and vowed to continue pursuing justice for trafficking survivors.
