In a targeted sting operation aimed at combating sex trafficking, eight individuals were arrested during a prostitution bust in Pomona.
The operation, led by the Pomona Police Department Special Investigations Unit and the Sexual Exploitation and Trafficking Team, focused on apprehending sex purchasers and curbing human trafficking near East Holt Avenue and Indian Hill Boulevard.
Undercover officers assumed the role of sex workers and were approached by individuals seeking their services. As a result, eight people were taken into custody for alleged solicitation of prostitution. The arrested include Samuel Antonio Calesahagun, Edgar Bruno Lima, Carlos Amancio, Ray Torres, Cruz Antonio Salinas Garcia, Miguel Bedolla, Jesus Antonio Razo Atilano, and Jorge Lara.
The Pomona Police Department remains committed to a proactive approach in combatting human trafficking and emphasizes a victim-centered strategy with the collaboration of various agencies. Notably, in 2022, the department successfully rescued 11 juvenile victims and multiple adult victims of human trafficking.
Investigators suspect the existence of unidentified victims related to human trafficking and urge anyone with information to contact the Pomona Police at 909-622-1241.
