Kidnapping and Sexual Abuse Case Shocks Southern California

CALIFORNIA – A 29-year-old man identified as Lorenzo Isaiah Haynes has been arrested on serious charges of kidnapping and sexual abuse in Southern California. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Haynes held a woman against her will for two weeks, forcing her to engage in multiple sexual acts.

The dramatic event unfolded on Saturday, May 25th, when the victim, in desperation, managed to contact authorities around 9:23 p.m. from a location on the 3600 block of Riverside Drive in Chino. The woman reported that she was hiding from Haynes, prompting an immediate response from sheriff’s deputies.

Deputies located Haynes’ vehicle and attempted to stop him, but he decided to flee, initiating a high-speed pursuit. During the pursuit, a sheriff’s patrol vehicle collided with two uninvolved motorists, resulting in injuries to one of the deputies, who was transported to a local hospital and later released.

The pursuit extended from Riverside County to San Diego County. Eventually, Haynes’ vehicle was disabled, forcing him to flee on foot. Authorities managed to arrest him in Escondido after an exhaustive search.

Lorenzo Isaiah Haynes faces multiple charges, including pimping, human trafficking, various sexual offenses, unlawful deprivation of liberty, kidnapping, and evading arrest resulting in injury to an officer. He is currently incarcerated at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga without bail, due to a violation of probation.
