San Diego, California — Michael James Pratt, the founder of a now-defunct adult website based in California, pleaded guilty to federal sex trafficking charges last Thursday, as confirmed by the U.S. Department of Justice.
Pratt, 42, appeared in a San Diego courtroom nearly three years after his arrest in Madrid. Once featured on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted list, Pratt had fled the United States in 2019 while under indictment. He now faces a potential life sentence, with formal sentencing scheduled for September 25.
The charges stem from Pratt’s role in operating the “GirlsDoPorn” website, which prosecutors said lured women, many of them in their late teens, through misleading job offers. Once recruited, victims were allegedly manipulated using alcohol, drugs, coercion, and threats.
Key details of the case include:
- Pratt and his team used false modeling promises to recruit hundreds of women.
- Victims were often denied the opportunity to read contracts before being forced to sign.
- Several women reported being sexually assaulted and detained in hotels until filming concluded.
- In 2020, a civil court awarded 22 victims a $12.7 million judgment.
Other co-defendants also pleaded guilty:
- Ruben Andre Garcia: 20-year sentence
- Matthew Isaac Wolfe: 14-year sentence
- Theodore Gyi: 4-year sentence
- Valorie Moser: sentencing set for September 12
