Madera, California — Five individuals face charges related to the attempted sexual exploitation of minors following a three-day operation in Madera County. The multi-agency effort, dubbed “To Catch a Predator,” involved the Madera County Sheriff’s Office, the California Department of Justice, the Bureau of Investigation, the Fresno Regional Office, the Human Trafficking/Sexual Predator Apprehension Team, and the California Highway Patrol.
The operation focused on individuals seeking to engage with minors for sexual activity. Undercover agents, posing as young people online, were contacted by almost 100 adults during the investigation. The five arrestees were among those who allegedly solicited the undercover agents.
These suspects were lured to pre-determined locations within Madera County. Upon arrival at these locations, they were promptly taken into custody. The arrests highlight law enforcement’s commitment to combating the sexual exploitation of children in California.
