SACRAMENTO, California — Following an extensive sex trafficking investigation in Sacramento County, law enforcement officials announced on Monday, March 25, 2024, that 27 individuals have been apprehended.
The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office revealed that the arrests transpired during an operation conducted by its special investigations bureau on March 22, which focused on apprehending individuals engaged in soliciting sex. According to statements from the sheriff’s office, several of the apprehended individuals attempted to negotiate with undercover deputies by offering money, drugs, and even, in one instance, a chicken sandwich.

Among the arrested were a commercial big rig driver and an individual on parole, who had previously been convicted of child molestation. Additionally, authorities disclosed that 22 vehicles were towed as part of the operation.
